DALLAS - Lumedia Musicworks, the early music ensemble known for combining performances of music composed before 1750 with modern, self-produced short films aimed at attracting new audiences to the music, will join more than 3,000 nonprofits in North Texas in raising money Thursday, Sept. 23, during the annual North Texas Giving Day. Dallas-based Lumedia aims to raise $20,000 or more during the official 18-hour online event.

To donate to Lumedia, go to https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/nonprofits?keyword=Lumedia+Musicworks&_rs=1176040487. Donors can send pre-event donations now.

"We've grown tremendously in the past few years. Lumedia has attracted fans worldwide and some of last season's short films won awards," said Julianna Emanski of Frisco, Lumedia's founder and artistic director. "This year we are looking forward to building new outreach initiatives with schools, hospitals, and senior centers."

Lumedia raised more than $13,000 last year because of its participation in NTGD. The funds, along with grants and other donations, allowed it to offer programs such as Welcome to the West, Eternal Source of Light and the popular Stories series about women composers.
