Lumedia Musicworks celebrates the Lenten season with a live-streamed and in-person concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 13, of Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. The concert, Lumedia Musicworks’ first live event of the season, is partially underwritten by St. Monica Catholic Church in Dallas.

The rarely heard instrumental masterpiece by Antonio Caldara, La passione di Gesù Signor nostro (The passion of our Lord Jesus Christ), sets the stage for Pergolesi’s most celebrated sacred vocal work Stabat Mater. Alongside the baroque orchestra are featured soloists mezzo-soprano Dianna Grabowski of Nacogdoches and soprano Julianna Emanski of Frisco.

Guests may attend the concert in-person at St. Monica or watch the live stream. All guests, both online and in-person, must register to attend the concert at https://www.LumediaMusicworks.com/stabatmater. COVID precautions will be enforced at the church.

Tickets are offered at no charge. Donations are welcome and accepted at www.LumediaMusicworks.com

“It is a blessing to be thriving this season despite the challenges COVID caused the arts community,” said Emanski, Lumedia's artistic director. “While we have enjoyed the virtual productivity, we look forward to performing live for the Dallas/Fort Worth audiences again.”

Dallas-based Lumedia is a nonprofit dedicated to sharing music before 1750.

St. Monica is at 9933 Midway Road.
