Lumedia Musicworks: engrossing audiences.
Texas is getting noticed for its early-music scene by Early Music America magazine - the only english language magazine dedicated to early music, and distributed world-wide. Lumedia Musicworks is a baroque and early music ensemble from Dallas, Texas, and is proud to have a huge feature alongside other stellar organizations across the great state of Texas.
Written by Joshua Figueroa, this article highlights the recently established groups in Texas who are "creating niches by providing alternative contexts for new audience to become familiar with early music."
Figueroa writes, "Lumedia creates musical scenes creating a mélange of movements and selections from various composers. Soprano and artistic director Julianna Emanski says that while this method provides a more dynamic selection of material to choose from, it also has the added benefit of engrossing audiences more easily."
"In tandem with their live programming, Lumedia also produces music videos that are presented both online and at select shows. The subjects of the films range from stylish, cinematic performances to creative narratives specifically written to compliment the music. Besides providing a visual stimulus, the films are another opportunity to teach audience members about the commonly unspoken elements of music."
