About Lumedia Musicworks
Lumedia Musicworks is a dynamic 501(c)(3) nonprofit performing arts organization dedicated to revitalizing early classical music (1600 - 1750) for contemporary audiences. Embarking on its eighth season, we serve North Texas residents through innovative concert programming that redefines early music for the 21st century.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between historical and modern cultural experiences by combining captivating live performances with the power of digital media. Musicians in our ensemble perform on historically reproduced instruments from the 15th to 18th centuries and are trained in historically-informed performance practices. Our artist roster includes first-class musicians, many of whom are graduates of the University of North Texas, Texas Christian University, and the University of Texas Arlington.
In addition to our live concerts, Lumedia Musicworks maintains a robust digital presence through award-winning short films and documentary series. These films have garnered accolades at film festivals worldwide and are featured as in-house television programming in hospitals across North Texas. Our documentaries are freely accessible online and presented interactively at senior centers throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Our Approach
We strive to engage audiences by integrating historical performance with modern storytelling techniques, utilizing a diverse artistic roster that includes directors, musicians, recording engineers, and videographers. By leveraging digital media and innovative concert programming, we expand access to early classical music, making it relevant and exciting for today’s audiences.
