Early Music America: The Unsolved Mystery of Anna Bon

SOURCE: EARLY MUSIC AMERICA

The daughter of professional musicians and a student at the famous Ospedale della Pietà in Venice, this young Italian female composer and multi-instrumentalist was well-positioned to perform and publish throughout Europe. As a central member of the family’s pioneering mobile opera company, Anna traveled to the music centers and high courts of Europe. Partnered with her singer/stage mom and jack-of-all-trades manager/father, she secured the success of the family business by charming audiences and securing patronage from the aristocracy.

Researched and written by Lumedia Musicworks’ directors Julianna Emanski and Molly Hammond, the script is by Douglas Bankston and historical images provided by R. Jenai Talkington. Emanski directed and edited the film.
